Knowledge, technology and solutions

After more than 50 fulfilling years of service at a well-known steel mill in the south of Duisburg, I will retire in February 2021.

However, I am still full of energy and drive, fit in terms of health, highly motivated by many ideas, and would like to continue implementing and imparting my extensively acquired knowledge and skills as well as my specific knowledge relating to metallurgical technology.

Based on the extensive range of my basic, advanced and further training, my strengths are in process technology relating to blast furnace operation, whose wide-ranging, extensive and varied areas of responsibility have characterized my last fifty-plus years of service.

These tasks have included all process and sequence stages from layout planning to numerous solutions to technical problems and continuous improvement, as well as project planning for major repairs and new construction measures (new and intermediate blast furnace linings with a focus on refractories). I have been able to acquire very special and extensive knowledge in ff technology (and in industrial endoscopy).

Several highly interesting research and development projects with many stays abroad in Europe, Asia and Latin America complement the challenging "smelter everyday life", whereby I have formed and maintain a worldwide and still active network, with relevant professional colleagues and friends.

In recent years, I have supervised many students in their bachelor theses. These supervisions show me that I like to work with young people and to exchange and share my experiences with them.
